Match Writing Guidelines 1. Read the superstar's profile and roleplays. These will help give you an idea of how to write the match, such as crowd reaction, moves, quotes, etc. 2. Be as realistic as possible. If a wrestler recieved a chokeslam, they wouldn't jump straight back to their feet would they? No, they'd probably lie motionless on the mat. Also remember the "aftershock" of the move. Once recovered from the chokeslam, the wrestler may stagger around the ring. You must also remember weaknesses of injuries. If a wrestler has a sprained ankle then for God's sake sell it! S/he isn't going to kick someone with that foot, and s/he'll be limping on it. Realism makes a good match, remember that. 3. Be creative and add your own ideas, but don't get too carried away. 4. Use the commentators wisely. I've always found in the past that it's funny to have the commentators arguing about something. You must always remember whose side the commentators will be on. One supports the heels while the other supports the faces. With the neutrals it's your choice. The commentators are always good at describing the feeling, intensity etc. They may also describe the feeling from the crowd as well, by saying things like "And the crowd really didn't like that!" 5. Like roleplaying, you are supposed to enjoy this. Consider it a hobby, not a job. Further more, if you don't enjoy writing it, then it will show up in the match. If you don't enjoy writing, then DON'T sign up! It's as simple as that! 6. If you use colors when you write the match, remember: Good Ol Jim Ross - Red (#CC0000); Jerry "The King" Lawler - blue(#009900); Howard Finkel/Lilian Garcia - yellow(#FFFF00); Interviewer - orange(#FF6600); Wrestler 1 - white(#FFFFFF); The Match - black(#000000). Here is a match I wrote while running the RWF. This is about what I expect. Read through it and learn from it.
Howard Finkel - First out, from Bombay, India, he is the RWF World Champion, here is Sabu!
Sabu walks out to Haku Blues and climbs into the ring.
Howard Finkel - Second, from Tampa, FL, here is the Big Show!
Everyone boos the Big Show as he walks down to the ring.
JR - There's that beast that slammed RVD earlier tonight.
Howard Finkel - Third out, from Toronto, Canada, here is Test!
All of the Testicles in the audience cheer for Test as he gets into the ring.
Howard Finkel - Finally, from Bay City, MI, he is the RWF United States Champion, Scott Steiner!
King - Here we go JR, the final match of the night! And it has Sabu in it!
The bell rings and Sabu begins beating the Big Show. He whips him into the ropes and dropkicks him. Big Show doesn't look affected at all, but Test suddenly hits him with a chair from behind. Steiner grabs Sabu and screwdrives him into the mat. As the Big Show gets up, Test kicks him hard. As the Show finally stumbles to his feet, he grabs Test's boot and blocks the Big Boot. He goes for a chokeslam and connects. He drops for a pin, 1...2..but suddenly Mankind runs out and tackles Big Show. He then puts Test in the mandible claw until Big Show gets up. Mankind then runs out of the ring and backstage. The Big Show drops down and pins Test, 1...2...3.
Test is eliminated.
Meanwhile, Sabu and Steiner are having it out, exchanging fists and other various moves. Then, the Big Show grabs Steiner and tries to chokeslam him, but Steiner kicks him in the stomach and puts him into the Steiner Recliner on the mat. The Show taps out after about 3 minutes in the recliner.
Big Show is eliminated.
Sabu missile dropkicks Steiner when he gets up. Then Sabu gets a ladder from outside of the ring and sets it up near the ropes. This time, Sabu throws Scott out of the ring and then hits the Arabian Facebuster on him from off of the top of the turnbuckle. Sabu throws Steiner into the ring and climbs up the 20 foot ladder. At the top he stands with his back facing Steiner's position and leaps off. He flips twice and makes contact with Scott Steiner.
JR - Was that a double moonsault?! Oh my God! Sabu just did a double moonsault off of a 20 foot ladder! Wow!
King - That's why I love him JR, he's completly suicidal!
Sabu then goes for a pin, 1......2.....3.
Howard Finkel - Here is your winner, Sabu!
Sabu walks backstage, leaving everyone stunned at what they had seen.
JR - Well, what a night it has been. Two titles won, and a double moonsault pulled off by Sabu. Wow, I can't wait until Sunday.
King - That's right everyone, don't forget to watch the Royal Rumble this Sunday, only on Pay-Per-View! It's gonna be awesome!
